How Pass Plus training works
After you have passed your practical test you can improve your driving further by taking a Pass Plus course


Pass Plus is a scheme which comprises of 6 modules and will last around 6 hours. All modules should be practical sessions, although local conditions may mean some are theory based. You will normally spend at least 5.5 hours driving.

You won’t take a test but you will be assessed throughout the course. The assessment consists of the following six modules:

Driving in Town
Driving at Night 
In all Weathers                           
Rural Roads 
Dual Carriageways 
Motorways

After successful completion, i
f you have reached the required standard in all modules you will receive a certificate


Car insurance discounts
Once you have completed Pass Plus you may be able to get a car insurance discount. You will need your Pass Plus certificate. The amount of discount will depend on the insurance company. Not all insurers offer Pass Plus discounts.

You might be able to put the discount on hold for up to 2 years if you don’t have a car at the moment - check with the insurance company first. Completion of this scheme can lower your insurance with some companies.
